लिसन (Listen) explores the impact of accent neutralization and language supremacy on our ability to both perceive and be perceived. This satirical series aims to confuse rather than connect, delving into the dynamics between two dominant languages in India—English and Hindi. It highlights how the act of transliteration between these languages can often lead to exclusion.

Adobe Premiere Pro
The video sequence shows me responding to the instructions of a YouTube speech coach. I recorded myself following each direction but edited it in Premiere Pro to highlight the over-enunciation, chaotic accent shifts, and the stress and confusion that accompany it. It was crucial for the visuals to align perfectly with the sounds, reflecting the tension between chaos and calm, as well as distance and intimacy. The broken screen visual at the end represents a fractured accent.
